Plays Showcases Live Events On the Web

Recently someone asked me if I get to see many plays and I told her although I enjoy a live performance I typically can't afford New York City Broadway Shows and Professional Plays.. even smaller ones.. So why is it taking so long to get these events on the web I can certainly imagine watching some of them at home on my computer for substantially less.
