recently I came accross a few ads in Youtube promoting a skin lightening cream called fair and handsome..
the ad is catering to Indian men who want to lighten their skin in order to attract Indian women ..

I've been observing and documenting the effects of racism politics and power on the perceptions of people regarding skin color and I've noticed that many new perceptions have evolved while old perceptions remain

seeing the paradox between the old and the new in the developing wolrd is very interesting yet still I thought I should leave a comment on their website and push them into the the 21st century

My comment was this :


SURE LIGHT SKIN GUYS ARE PRETTY BUT ARE UNIVERSALLY LESS THREATENING AND LESS MASCULINE THAN DARK SKIN MEN THATS IS WHY MOST MEN PERSUE LIGHT SKIN WOMEN .. THE DELICACY THAT COMES WITH BEING LIGHTER DUE TO EASIER MORE NOTICEABLE SCARRING AND SUCH MEANS A DARK SKIN MAN HAS LESS TO LOSE IN A FIGHT WITH A LIGHT SKIN MAN AND WOULD HAVE AN EASIER TIME COVERING OR RECOVERING FROM SCARRING ..MEN WHO WANT TO BE LIGHTER PROBABLY ALSO WANT TO BE MORE FEMININE AND DELICATE LIKE WOMEN.


I wanted to cry looking at that beautiful caramel skinned boy with the vivid contrasting and stand out red lips (Red lips on caramel skin..oh my) put on invariably toxic cream to make his face look like that of a corspe or a vampire victim (Not Caucasian)


But the "Fair and Handsome" company says nearly 29% of Indian men purchase these creams .. thats sounds like a big gay segment to me..

when I talk to evolved contemporary women (typically i have to use alcohol to get the truth out of them) most of whom were white women I hear the same reccuring perceptions that black men are more threatening more hostile more wild more savage more everything that is congruent to manliness and testosterone.. . You see white American and Anglo saxon men have savaged, demonized and animalized the black man's image (Once again see DW GRiffith's "Birth of a Nation" for evidence) so much so that I think in the Developed world this effort has begun to backfire With Black men embracing their savage and brutal characterizations ... (enter DMX Ja rule ETC) and now women whether they openly admit to liking black men or not find black men more masculine more threatening and inherently more sexy ...


ok to test this who is more masculine emenem or will smith?
(although emenem tries hard very hard to be masculine brutal and savage even openly discussing the rape murder fantasies of his ex wife and will tries so hard to appear decent and respectable you know what I get as an answer 90% of the time...the black guy)

I cant tell you how many white girlfriends i knew that would talk all day about hating NI^*&*^rs and black men and Sp%^86c men make them sick yet I'd catch them sneaking some black guy out of their apartment or deleting them off their internet hookup website buddy lists ...

this phenomenon is growing


even if your too niave to admit that please consider this

whether you are male or female and even other blacks
will walk past a group of young light skin men on a dark alley but will they will never walk past a group of dark skin men in the same alley .. HELL no! they're too threatening too masculine!!

At the end of the day God is pretty even handed and I hope men and women of all shades consider there are advantages and disadvatages to pursueing any color modification .. perceptions are one thing wrinkles and ages spots are another ...

I was speaking with a comedian from SNL the othernight . One whom I enjoy and have respect for. I was telling her that I prefer to write comedy for the challenge of it .

Hunger... My Best Friend

I knew Hunger way back in the day when he was just still a boy named D.

he's been though lot's of changes and called many things but his attitude remained the same

I remember Hunger used to pick fights with me everyday when we had fourth period math class together ..

Hunger never had any apologies

When there's tea with no bread, cereal with no milk, mayo with no meat you just have to be creative

yet every now (if you have the stomach for it) and then you may still get to watch the well bread and fed tread the RED and accept awards on the notion of creativity

While lost in the woods with my first girlfriend Hunger nearly made savages out of us

Hunger never had any consideration

i always used to think that when i got big i would be free from hunger

i would be so big i could chase hunger out of the shadows of the forgotten and beyond



Once empowered i would have consideraton and empathy for those effected by the Bold irrational temper of hunger

But ....Instead of chasing Hunger I had to run from it

I ran until i arrived at the precipace of satisfaction only to realise that satisfaction had no interest in Hunger as the north pole has no interest in the equator

I tried to convince satisfaction that hunger hurts and it's on the move and satisfaction remained thoroughly self concerned

While hunger may be painful ... I now awknowledge my love hate relationship with it


it helped me to embrace the attributes of the enlightened spirit to make the world better not simply Myself..
